This is Anne Titboald Ward (c. 1825 – 31 May 1896), the first national president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union of New Zealand from 1885 to 1887, and the founding WCTU NZ Superintendent of Franchise at Kaiapoi from 1890 on. She was still in Kaiapoi in 1892 when she signed a franchise petition as "Annie Ward, Kaiapoi" (sheet 198). The Electoral Roll for New Zealand in 1896 shows "Ann Ward" living in Kaiapoi, while her husband (Judge Dudley Ward) lived in Christchurch and Dunedin.
