Ann Huxtable was born about 1826 in Berrynarbor in Devon, England – the daughter of James Huxtable and Joan.
She married, 50 year old school teacher, George Hicks on 1 October 1855 in Berrynarbor and they had three children before George died in 1872.
Sometime after this Ann emigrated to New Zealand with her children.
When she signed the suffrage petition she was living in Jacobstown, Gore married to Jacob Williams, no marriage record can be found.
Ann died at her home on 13 September 1904 – she left her estate to her children and is buried with her son in the Gore Cemetery.
Jacob died in 1906 – he is buried near to Ann, also in the Gore Cemetery.
