Marian Annie Teresa Lima/Lyma was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of Austin Lima, a labourer, & Mary Caroline Staurenghi.

When Teresa signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Hanover St, Dunedin working as a mantle maker.

She later moved to Christchurch where, in 1914 on Ascension Thursday, she was “received into the Order of Mercy, and will be known in religion as Sister Rose”.

She died on August 11th1946 at “Lewisham” & is buried in the Waimairi Cemetery, Christchurch.
